Saturday evening was my boyfriend’s sister’s wedding! Her ceremony was at the beautiful St. Monica – St. George Church in Clifton, and the reception was at the Krippendorf Lodge in the Cincinnati Nature Center in Milford. It was a lot of fun to be her “unofficial” planner. It is always a bit strange for me to be a guest at a wedding, but I was actually able to let it all go and enjoy myself. My wonderful crew (Lauren, Amanda, Emily and Hannah) was on hand to help with set-up at the Krippendorf Lodge so that I could get to the church in time for the ceremony. Julie of Elegant Fare was a huge help throughout the whole process. Sarah put a lot of DIY projects into her wedding, and they all turned out great. She did all of her own centerpieces, bouquets and boutonni√®res, and they were fabulous! She was smart to keep them simple, and they looked gorgeous in the setting of the Nature Center. She put together her own candy bar (which in addition to the ice cream sundae bar served as dessert in place of traditional wedding cake), and together we made super cute programs which fit in perfectly with her green/white/yellow theme. The groom Adam’s favorite band, “Jerry’s Little Band” was the perfect choice for the setting, and thanks to an abundance of bug spray set out in convenient spots, I didn’t get a single bite :)

Thanks to: the lovely ladies of Aviva Events for setup assistance, Geri Ciulla of Ciulla Photography, Elegant Fare Catering, Jerry’s Little Band and Charter Bus Service.

Thursday evening (July 3) was Donna and Eric’s wedding at Drees Pavilion. I’ve been working with Donna and Eric for over a year, and have just loved working with them. I met Donna almost two years ago now, when I planned a family barbecue party at her home. I was so excited when I learned last year that she and Eric were engaged, and have had too much fun working with them on every step of this wedding. We made every decision with the final goal of creating a fun, colorful event that reflected their personalities – the decor, the food, the music and more, every little bit just screamed “Donna and Eric”. It is always fun to work with couples who aren’t afraid to be a bit untraditional- case in point: Donna walked down the aisle to a string version of Billy Idol’s “White Wedding”. But perhaps my favorite part of the night was when Donna, Eric and the kids were subtly called to the dance floor for the first dance with the “Addams Family” music. Too cute! It was a great night and I will so miss working with them. I’m sure we’ll find another reason to plan a celebration together soon! Below are a two quick (unprofessional) pics showing their fabulous color scheme. I’ll post the “real” pictures later after I get them.

Many thanks to everyone who helped the event come together: Scott and Katherine at Drees Pavilion, Melinda at McHale’s Catering, Ron Padgett (of Beehive and now Pollination), Daren Fuster and the ProArt string quartet, DJ Toad, the BonBonerie, Donna of BBJ Linen, Frills Rentals, Stephen Hoffman, Nancy of Brideface, Poeme, and Crystal Lee Ann Photography. And my awesome assistant and interns: Amanda, Hannah and Emily!
