Holiday Weekend Wedding Extravaganza Part I

July 7, 2008

Thursday evening (July 3) was Donna and Eric’s wedding at Drees Pavilion. I’ve been working with Donna and Eric for over a year, and have just loved working with them. I met Donna almost two years ago now, when I planned a family barbecue party at her home. I was so excited when I learned last year that she and Eric were engaged, and have had too much fun working with them on every step of this wedding. We made every decision with the final goal of creating a fun, colorful event that reflected their personalities – the decor, the food, the music and more, every little bit just screamed “Donna and Eric”. It is always fun to work with couples who aren’t afraid to be a bit untraditional- case in point: Donna walked down the aisle to a string version of Billy Idol’s “White Wedding”. But perhaps my favorite part of the night was when Donna, Eric and the kids were subtly called to the dance floor for the first dance with the “Addams Family” music. Too cute! It was a great night and I will so miss working with them. I’m sure we’ll find another reason to plan a celebration together soon! Below are a two quick (unprofessional) pics showing their fabulous color scheme. I’ll post the “real” pictures later after I get them.

Many thanks to everyone who helped the event come together: Scott and Katherine at Drees Pavilion, Melinda at McHale’s Catering, Ron Padgett (of Beehive and now Pollination), Daren Fuster and the ProArt string quartet, DJ Toad, the BonBonerie, Donna of BBJ Linen, Frills Rentals, Stephen Hoffman, Nancy of Brideface, Poeme, and Crystal Lee Ann Photography. And my awesome assistant and interns: Amanda, Hannah and Emily!
