Amy and Pete were married in September at the Bell Event Centre. I have known Amy for quite a while now (she is the Editor of CincyChic) and was so excited when she came to me to help with her wedding coordination! Amy chose a gorgeous, classic color scheme of deep reds and gold which perfectly complemented the Event Centre’s decor. The flowers were all done by the amazing Courtenay Lambert (whose work can be seen all over this blog!). The wedding cake was created by Cotillion Events which is a new bakery located in the Madison Wedding Mall. Cotillion also provided the groom’s cake, which was a surprise in and of itself but also a surprise in that it revealed to the groom their honeymoon itinerary with a map of Italy!
Music was a HUGE part of this wedding ~ the ceremony music was performed by their family friends, Brian and Ann, and the reception music, while headlined by Kelly Red and the Hammerheads, also featured friends and family jumping in to perform! One of Pete’s groomsmen was Eliot Sloan of Blessid Union of Souls, and he dedicated a song to the newlyweds. CSC provided fun, colorful lighting to add to the atmosphere of the reception.
Many thanks to my associate coordinators Lauren and Amanda for making it all happen (in the photos below you’ll see a shot of Amanda peeking her head in to check on Amy – love it!).
And now for the best part, truly amazing photos by the talented Neysa Ruhl. Neysa, you really know how to capture the moment – your photos tell great stories :)
One of the best things about my styling work is that I get to visit so many local boutiques on a regular basis, and I get to talk with the owners– I usually end up learning much more about their business than I would if I were just in for regular shopping. The other week I popped into La Silhouette in Madeira– that place it totally and completely FABULOUS. It just screams girl, in the best of ways, from the decor to the smell and of course the products (deliciously gorgeous lingerie). Britt, the owner is incredibly sweet and she let me know that she makes her boutique available for bridal showers ~ champagne and refreshments included! She also offers a bridal registry. Please check it out – www.lasilhouettelingerie.com, 513-271-8100 or firstname.lastname@example.org. And let her know I sent you :)
Halloween is my favorite holiday, and although wedding cake is not my most favorite food, it is pretty far up on the list, so when this email hit my inbox, I knew I had to share it! Liz England of Chef’s Kitchen Cakery is offering up some Halloween specials…
Call by Wednesday and place your order for a fabulously YUMMY Chocolate and raspberry (for the rotten and bloody effect) COFFIN cake or perhaps a CAULDRON filled with candy- guaranteed to leave your goblins with stained black teeth (both the “trick” and the “treat” in every bite…) We’ll make you scream with ghoulish glee at a price of $32.00 and these cakes will serve 15-20 of your most formidable monsters. Tombstones are also available for your more earthbound confectionery friends.
