The Knot Market Party at Greenacres Arts Center | Indian Hill, Ohio

January 13, 2010

This past August, I had the honor of planning The Knot‘s annual market party for all Cincinnati-area wedding vendors! The party was a great chance for everyone to take a pause from working at events and relax and enjoy one for once! Of course it could never have happened without some of us working behind the scenes…

We chose the Greenacres Arts Center in Indian Hill because in addition to being a relatively new venue, the setting is just drop-dead gorgeous. It is a historic estate that has been updated with all the modern amenities you could want in a venue (central air, wi-fi, an amazing audio-visual system). Plus, it has a moat! (Who doesn’t want a moat?). Jackie and Jim at Greenacres were essential in helping pull the event together. (Contact Jim for details on having your wedding or event there).

Inspired Floral Design and Connie Duglin Linen provided all that we needed to give the historic home a modern look and feel. CSC added to the atmosphere with a touch of lighting, and Camargo Rental, Greenacres’ exclusive rentals source, provided all of the “extras” we needed to supplement what the Arts Center has in-house.

Chef’s Choice Catering provided several stations of delicious food – including a yummy dessert station – and the Mariemont Inn sponsored the bar. Coffee Emporium and Taste of Belgium provided even more treats for the guests and were easily the hit of the party. Phil from DJ Toad kept the music going all night long and the ShutterBooth was busy all night as well – my assistants and I even managed to find time to sneak in for a picture. During the event we collected supplies to donate to Crayons2Computers, a local non-profit that provides school supplies to area teachers and students.

Many thanks to the super-talented Geri Ciulla of Ciulla Photography for providing the images for the event, and also to the following sponsors who provided goodies for our gift bags and raffle prizes: Maribelle Cakery, Lucky Designs, Embassy Suites, Newport Syndicate and Woodhouse Day Spa. And the most thanks of all to my amazing team of planners for helping all day with the set-up, registration, event flow and break down! It was a long day but so much fun. More details and photos from the event are featured in the current issue of The Knot Ohio magazine (page 32).
